Palliata Santuario Testimonials
My time here taught me not only all the essentials of howler monkey care and rehabilitation but gave me a real insight into conservation work as a whole and how to work and live in a tropical climate. The work is rewarding and engaging and if you’re interested, there are plenty of opportunities to learn about the rich biodiversity of the area. Additionally, this internship gave me a great opportunity to collect my own data on wild howler monkeys, much of which would have been impossible without the local knowledge of the staff and particularly Nele’s biological knowledge, help and support throughout. I left feeling much more capable and prepared for the reality of graduate level work and research and would highly recommend an internship here to anyone interested in animal care, primatology or wanting practical fieldwork and conservation experience.
My time at Palliata Santuario changed my life. It wasn’t an internship or co-op, it was an immersion. An immersion into the culture of Howler Monkeys. I would recommend this experience to anyone who is looking to find a sense of direction in their career path because after you leave you’ll want nothing more than to go back.
